Every Engineer’s Duty: What Tragedy Has Taught Us About Professionalism, Ethics, Leadership and Public Safety

Civil engineering leaders examine the lessons learned from three engineering disasters, the impact of those events on the practice of civil engineering, and the leadership role of the profession in meeting the public’s needs while protecting public safety. During part two, three additional leaders join panelists to share insights and answer questions from the audience. Recognizing the importance of this topic, ASCE arranged a Webcast of part one of this special session to educate members so they may begin an ongoing professional dialogue on this important issue. Facilitated by Ltg. Henry J. Hatch, P.E., Hon.M.ASCE, NAE, U.S. Army (Ret.), the CEO forum was organized by ASCE's Civil Engineering Forum for Innovation (CEFI) during the ASCE Annual Conference in Orlando.

Plan now to participate live in next year's CEO Forum. Mark your calendar for the 2008 ASCE Annual Conference, November 6-8, 2008, in Pittsburgh.
