The
City of Austin, along with Austin Mayor Will Wynn, Austin Energy
Deputy General Manager Roger Duncan and a diverse group of
supporters announce the launch of the Plug-In Partners National
Campaign. A developing “perfect storm” of strategic, economic, and
environmental conditions is compelling the United States to find
ways to dramatically reduce oil consumption. Plug-In Partners is a
national initiative aimed at amassing support to manufacture
flexible fuel plug-in hybrid vehicles. The campaign’s goal is to
send a strong and clear message to automakers that a market exists
for plug-in hybrids in America today and that automakers should
mass-produce flexible fuel plug-in hybrid vehicles.
