Investigative Report to be Released September 26:
Campaign Consultants: The Price of Democracy

The Center for Public Integrity, with the support of the Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy, presents findings from a six-month investigation into campaign consulting. “Campaign Consultants: The Price of Democracy” looks into the world of consultants and the skyrocketing costs of federal races that, in part, are underwritten by special interests. The analysis breaks down how almost $2 billion in campaign money was spent during the last election cycle on professional consultant services. The Center will also launch a searchable database that will allow the public to learn how much each consultant was paid by federal campaigns and “527” interest groups.

Participants: Wendell Rawls, Executive Director, Center for Public Integrity; Sandy Bergo, Consultants Project Manager, Center for Public Integrity; Alex S. Jones, Director, Joan Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy
