EVENT DESCRIPTION:
The DLC's National Conversation brings together state and local
elected officials throughout the United States who are using
New Democrat approaches - based on progressive ideas, mainstream
values, and fiscal responsibility- to help America meet the challenges
of a new century. The Conversation will showcase the innovative
work of Governors, Lieutenant Governors, State Legislators, Mayors,
and County Officials who are developing the next generation of
New Democrat ideas and the strategies to implement them.
President Clinton will deliver
the keynote address, and Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend and
Former Sweden Ambassador Thomas Siebert will co-host the two-day
event.
