President George W. Bush signed the National Defense Authorization Act for
Fiscal Year 2003 on Monday, Dec. 2, 2002 in the Pentagon Auditorium. Secretary
of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and other senior DoD leaders were on hand for
the occasion. The bill authorizes the Department to spend $393 billion for
the current fiscal year, which ends on Sept. 30, 2003.
