A National Press Club Newsmaker:
Diplomats and Military Commanders for Change

An unprecedented bipartisan coalition of 26 career chiefs of mission and retired four-star military leaders will launch a nationwide campaign to press for the need for change in U.S. foreign and defense policy because they are deeply concerned by the damage the Bush Administration has caused to our national and international interests. Spokesperson Ambassador Phyllis Oakley, former Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence and Research and former spokesperson for Secretary of State George Schultz, will be joined by 12 other members of the group. Attendees will include ambassadors and military leaders who have served in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, South America and Asia. After releasing their statement, members will participate in Q and A.
