Representatives of major cable operators and digital television (DTV) product manufacturers announced an agreement leading to the manufacture and sale of new digital TV sets. The agreement enables consumers to enjoy easy access to high-definition television services (HDTV) offered by cable operators. The participants provided an overview of the agreement and discussed its implications for consumers, the respective industries, and the DTV transition.
